Jack SnyderJack Snyder, Director of Golf

Born in Troy, N.Y., Jack moved to the Charlottesville area, at age 4, when his father, John accepted the golf professional position at Farmington Country Club. After graduating from Albemarle High School, with the 1975 State Team Golf Championship, Jack attended Georgia Southern College on a golf scholarship. After graduating, Jack worked as an assistant golf professional at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.; Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.; and Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Va.

In 1985 he received his Class-A PGA status and became the head golf professional at Lake Monticello Golf Club where he served from 1985-1996. Jack served as director of golf instruction for the city of Greensboro at Bryan Park from 1996-1997 and moved to Goldsboro, N.C., as head professional at Walnut Creek Country Club from 1998-2005, then Director of Golf at Spring Creek Golf Club until May of 2010.

Jack has been Director of Golf at Glenmore since May 2010 and is looking forward to a promising future at our spectacular facility. Jack became a PGA master professional in 1995 and is strongly committed to teaching the game of golf as well as serving all those who visit the facility.

kandicomerKandi Comer, Director of Kandi Comer Golf Academy

Since 1995 Kandi has been mentoring players of all skill levels by providing them with a firm knowledge of the basic fundamentals of the game, with a special emphasis on the short game and course management. Evidenced by her being recognized four straight years by Golf For Women as a Top 50 Teaching Professional, and nominated several times for Golf Digest's Top 100, she brings to her teaching the lessons learned from some excellent mentors, including the late Davis Love, Jr., and noted sports psychologist, Dr. Bob Rotella. Thanks to their guidance, Kandi developed into one of the finest amateur golfers in the country, culminating in her selection to the U.S. team for the 1986 Curtis Cup, the leading international team competition for women golfers in the world, Kandi won five Virginia State junior and amateur championships, reached the final eight of several major national match play tournaments, an won two tournaments during her college career at the University of North Caolina, where she graduated with a degree in psycology. Kandi has extended her knowledge of psychology by working with noted sports psychologist Dr. Bob Rotella, and applies that to her work as a golf instructor.

Kandi also qualified for five U.S. Opens, and finished in the top 15 in the 1987 event. She was also recognized as one of the top 10 amateur women golfers in the U.S. by Golf Digest in 1985. The Virginia State Golf Association acknowledged her career accomplishments with a special display, featuring her Curtis Cup jacket, in its Hall of Fame at the Independence Golf Club in Richmond.

During her time on the LPGA and Futures professional circuits, where she recorded two victories, Kandi began to develop her teaching skills. She eventually became the instructor of the LPGA Tour star Dottie Pepper, winner of 17 tour events, including two majors and has coached Leah Wigger while she successfully earned her LPGA credentials. Kandi continues to give her attention to developing up-and-coming talent. Her roseter of junior golfers includes players who have received scholarships from Virginia, Virgnia Tech, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Kentucky, East Carolina, Randolf Macon and William and Mary. She was selected as the 2005 PGA Junior Golf Leader of the Year, and honor for which she was nominated by her peers and voted on by the board of PGA Mid-Atlantic region. Thanks to her outstanding record of success, Kandi is now recognized as one of the finest teachers in the game today and recently was named US Kids Top 50 Junior Instructors.

Kandi Comer Golf Academy
Kandi Comer has established herself as one of the best golf teachers in the country, after an outstanding career as an amateur and professional player, culminating in her selection to the 1986 Curtis Cup team. She brings to her work with members the same expertise and passion that she has provided as a coach to former LPGA star Dottie Pepper and several outstanding juniors and amateurs.

divider claudiaClaudia Ferrini, Assistant Golf Professional

A native of Lima, Peru, Claudia was offered a full scholarship to play golf at the University of New Mexico where she gained All-Conference honors in 2000 and 2002, as well as a B. A. in Economics. As the 2000, 2002 and 2003 Peruvian National Champion and the 1996 and '97 South American Team Champion, she became, in 2004, the first woman Head Professional in the history of Peruvian golf at the Country Club La Planicie, a position she held until 2007. She is a Class A LPGA Professional.

Claudia came to Glenmore as assistant golf professional in 2007 and has enjoyed working with our members and their guests. She especially loves working with our juniors on and off the course. Teaching is her passion and those that have had the opportunity to work with her, love her style and approach to teaching. She is looking forward to continuing her career at Glenmore and working with golfers at any skill level.
